L. Derek Renfro

Lorenzo “Derek” Renfroe, Esquire was a visionary and the epitome of academia as he majored in Electrical Engineering and obtained a Juris Doctorate. He was a practicing attorney in the areas of litigation and real estate. Derek was a resource to many 501(c)3 organizations. He was a founding member of the Jewel Guild Foundation (JGF) and served as its first Chairman.

Having three sons and a daughter, he recognized the importance of ensuring a path forward. The Foundation has normally extended its scholarships to male students. With the permission given, a unanimous vote was obtained by the Board to honor Derek wishes by awarding scholarships to outstanding young women. It is with that charge that we announce the Lorenzo Derek Renfro Scholarship. Please consider donating below.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested you make a donation to the Jewel Guild Foundation in his honor. Your donation will be specifically dedicated to awarding scholarships to outstanding young people in Shelby County, Tennessee.
